Another Betting Shop Planning Application in Hayes Town Centre:Enough is Enough

A planning application has been submitted for yet another betting shop in Hayes Town Centre. This would mean three betting shops within 100 yards of each other in the town centre. The planning application is for the old Age Concern charity shop site in Station Road, Hayes.

The local Councillors and I have lodged an objection to this planning application. There are enough betting shops in the town centre and we are saying to the Council “Enough is enough and the council should reject this application.”

If you share our views please contact the council and register your objection to this proposal.

I definitely do not agree with this idea. as there is already enough in the town why do we need another. i think the space should be used to build a more useful shop as a clothing or a supermarket. By building yet another betting shop this encourages people to gamble which at the time ; what with the credit crunch, we should be saving money not gambling it !!!
