Hillingdon’s Conservative Council appears determined to build upon our green belt, country park site at Lake Farm. I visited the site today (Monday 8th August) to meet the local ward councillors to discuss the council’s proposal. It has been revealed that the Council wants to take 5 hectares of land. This means we could lose at first a 5th of the country park but it is assumed that the council will want to come back at a next stage for nearly half the park. I was pleased that the local Labour councillors are totally opposed to the Council’s plan and are helping to mobilise our local community against it and to save our country park.

When there are huge housing estates being built in the area you need to have a local school. Hayes will become a dense/over populated housing estate. Getting rid of the greenbelt area is an example of this and very unfortunate. Secret is to stop over housing and you will protect the green spaces. Build flats in areas such as Ickenham/Denham not Hayes as there are far too many people here, we need to spread the people across the borough.
