I am extremely worried about the threatened closure of Hesa Walk in Health Centre.Hillingdon Health, the local PCT, has launched a consultation about the future of the Hesa Walk in Centre in Hayes town centre. The centre has been open since 2009 to provide a walk in health facility in the town centre to deal with minor injuries and aliments 365 days a year from 8am to 8pm. Hillingdon Health is now proposing to close the centre and locate all urgent care at Hillingdon Hospital.
I am worried at the threat to this important local clinic. My concern is that removing this facility from the centre of Hayes will reduce the accessibility of local people to the treatment and health care they need. It is also another blow to the livelihood of the town centre. Hayes and the south of the borough have the highest levels of morbidity in the borough and therefore need facilities like the walk in centre if we are to stand any chance of addressing this inequality of standards of health. I am urging people to respond to the consultation to voice their concerns at this proposal.
