I set out my views once again on the need to withdraw from Afghanistan in the debate that took place last month in the Commons. I voted along with 13 other MPs to seek a solution to the Afghan war based upon withdrawal of our troops and a negotiated settlement. I am deeply distressed at the continuing loss of life in Afghanistan and find it difficult to bear the sadness every time another of our young people loses their life in this war. We have to find a solution to this conflict. The debate has now moved on to find that solution.

I had to take this website down for the election and since then I have been frenetically busy in dealing with local and national issues with the result that I have not posted on the site since the election.
