John McDonnell MP
Local MP John McDonnellcelebrated Labour’s success in his Hayes and Harlington constituency in the local council elections. Labour gained 4 seats from the Conservatives and UKIP failed to take any council seat. There are now only two Conservative councillors left in the Hayes and Harlington constituency. Labour took two seatsfromthe Conservatives in the Heathrow villages, which are now represented solely by three Labour councillors. It also took a seat from the Conservatives in the previous Conservative strongholds of Charville and West Drayton, which both now have two Labour councillors each.
John said “I am pleased to have a great team of Labour councillors elected to represent our area. The Hayes and Harlington constituency is increasinglybecoming a Conservative free zone. As I have always done, I will work hard with all the councillors elected for my community no matter what their party affiliation. I am calling onthem all no matter what party they are in to put the people of the south of the borough first because we have suffered dreadfully from neglect by this council and we need to all work together to tackle thiscouncil’s bias and prejudice against the south of Hillingdon. I am calling on all the councillors in my constituency to stand up for the people of Hayes and Harlington, West Drayton and the Heathrow villages that have been ignored for too long by Hillingdon council. My message is simple: Put your constituents first and ahead of the demands of your party.”
